The Universal Capture Interface

Pressing Cmd + Shift + 5 brings up the macOS Screen Capture interface. It handles both static screenshots and video recording, eliminating the need for QuickTime Player.

Shortcut	Action	Use Case
Cmd+Shift+3	Capture Entire Screen	Not recommended. Captures all monitors, huge file size.
Cmd+Shift+4	Capture Selection	Good for specific UI elements, but risky if you crop the URL.
Cmd+Shift+4 + Space	Capture Specific Window	The Gold Standard. Perfectly crops the browser window including the URL.
Cmd+Shift+5	Video / Options Menu	Use to record a selected portion of the screen for dynamic bugs.

Annotating Native Screenshots

When you take a screenshot, a thumbnail appears in the bottom right corner of the screen. Click it. This opens the Markup interface. Use the shape tools to draw red boxes around the issue before saving.
